Dr. Lee is a retired partner with Goodsill Anderson Quinn & Stifel where her
area of expertise was trusts and estates. She was elected a fellow of the
American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and was consistently listed in
Best Lawyers in America. Prior to practicing law, she was a professor of
French language and literature at the University of Hawaii. She received her
Ph.D. in French from Northwestern University, her J.D. from the William S.
Richardson School of Law, her M.A. from Columbia University, her B.A. from
the University of Hawaii, and certificates from l'Université de Paris
(Sorbonne). She was a professor of French at the University of Hawaii,
Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Missouri and Northeastern Illinois
University, Chicago, Illinois.
She was a Regent of the University of Hawaii, served as Chairperson of the
Board of Regents from 2003-2005, was a Commissioner of the Honolulu
Ethics Commission and Vice-President and Director of the Hawaii Opera
Theatre. She was awarded l'Ordre National du Mérite by the French
government and the Distinguished Alumni Award by the University of Hawaii
and a Meritorious Public Service Award by the U.S. Navy.
After serving for 18 years as Honorary Consul of France, Dr. Lee retired
from that position in May, 2015.
