J.E. "Tihati" Thompson was bestowed the Samoan Alii High Chief Title of PAPALI'ITELE in 1980 by the late Head of State of Samoa His Highness Malietoa Tanumafili ll.

He is the Executive Producer /Director Tihati Productions, Ltd. (est 1969), Founder of the South Seas Christian Ministries, Former President for the Hawaii State Sheriff Association, Presently serving on the Executive Board for the Hawaii Law Enforcement Association. He was Selected Hawaii's Small Business of the year 1986 and Inducted to Hawaii Business Hall of Fame with his wife Auimatagi Cha in 1990.

Consul Tihati is Honored by the people of American Samoa for both his Professional Accomplishments and Community Contribution in Hawaii. Award presented by former American Samoa Governor Peter Tali Coleman at the 1992 American Samoa Flag day Tutuila, American Samoa.

Tihati's Polynesian Spectacular was the first to perform for President Obama's Hawaiian Luau at the White House in 2009.
