Claus Z. Hansen is the co-owner of Moanalua Mortuary. He was honored as one of Pacific Business News' 40 Under 40 exceptional businesspeople. Hansen was born and raised in Denmark, and left home to attend the University of Hawaii at Manoa on a swimming scholarship. The former Olympic hopeful transitioned from a swimming career into a UH Manoa coaching career, before launching his full-service funeral home. Hansen is active in Hawaii's Scandinavian community and maintains ties to his homeland by returning to visit his relatives every other year.
