Hugues Ogier’s last diplomatic assignment was as Deputy Chief of Mission in Guinea. He had previously served in the same position at the U.S. Embassy in the Federated States of Micronesia. Prior to Micronesia, Mr. Ogier worked as Consul in Tokyo and Seoul. His previous Foreign Service assignments also include Sapporo, Algiers, Brussels, and Lomé. Hugues Ogier holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley, a Master’s in Asian Studies and a Bachelor’s in Japanese Studies from the University of Paris. He speaks French and Japanese.

Mr. Ogier is the recipient of several State Department Superior and Meritorious Honor Awards.
