Honorary Consul Tyler Dos Santos-Tam

Tyler Dos Santos-Tam is a Honolulu-based business consultant who was appointed in 2019 as the Honorary Consul for Portugal in Hawaiʻi. In this role, he works to promote trade, tourism, and cultural relationships between Portugal and Hawaii. He is also the President of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii.

He previously served for six years as the Executive Director of the Hawaii Construction Alliance, the organization which represents the state’s 15,000- member strong Carpenters, Laborers, Cement Masons, Bricklayers, and Operating Engineers unions. In this unique role, he brought together representatives from these unions to promote cooperation, collaboration, and coordination within the Hawaiʻi’s construction industry.

Consul Dos Santos-Tam is the Chair of Honolulu’s Neighborhood Commission and has served on numerous nonprofit boards. He is also a leader within the Democratic Party of Hawaiʻi and the Young Democrats of America. He was a member of the Pacific Century Fellows in 2014 and Pacific Business News’ “40 Under Forty” in 2015 for his work in both the business and advocacy community.


Consul Dos Santos-Tam is an alumnus of Punahou School and Yale University, where he graduated magna cum laude in Political Science and Portuguese.
